Game v2The tops of the walls were glowing gently with an almost unnoticeable light - it was a testament to Jannis' sight that he even noticed anything, but then again, he was constantly peering through his own periscope.  As Thumbs watched, the spectral lights became more distinct, shining a deep violet color, slowly brightening and rising as the light formed an increasingly visible wall over the parapets.

Game v1Speaking of siege engines, nobody was quite sure why Zack had decided to get trashed while he was supposed to be driving one.  The more responsible members of the crew dutifully turned levers, pulled cranks, and did their best to steer the contraption, a huge, spike-ridden thing with wheels and a cannon or two.  Or two, because while it only had one primary cannon, it was rigged to blow in the unlikely event it was compromised, to try to prevent the technology from spreading.  But then, who really cared anymore?  Most of the crewmembers - hell, most of the world - was of the opinion that the faster this Game v1

Halloween Costumes

Well, my original idea was to go as Dr. Horrible. His coat is absurdly hard to find, but I ended up with a standard lab coat and decided that with liberal application of safety pins, it could be coerced sideways. Upon ordering the goggles to go with such an outfit, I was informed that they are unavailable for the next week or so as they're on back-order.

So now I have a lab coat and no good Halloween costume ideas.

Halp! I had one idea, going as Doc from Back to the Future. I found some goggles my dad has in his garage that look similar enough, I can get a wig, and grease smudges will be applied liberally. There's a picture of the first attempt at this, minus the smudges and wig (I'd have a different undershirt, of course), in my scraps. Thoughts?

Also, I found the ending all kinds of shades of disappointing, though, I think if he had died I wouldn't have been able to pick up another book from the series.
